Since JFM began broadcasting again in 2022, we have been made aware of various groups relaying the station's output on analogue frequencies throughout Europe. Currently we are being heard on 90.6 MHz VHF in Mojacar, Southern Spain. If you hear JFM somewhere on the radio bands, do get in touch because we'd love to know where we are being heard. In the spirit of free radio, we would never condemn these groups, as we were once an unlicensed station ourselves. It seems free radio is very much alive in the digital age, and just goes to show that wherever there is great music, there are individual groups who are willing to go to such lengths. They believe in our music, our heritage, and above all are doing this for the listeners themselves. Our message to everyone..."Love is the message and music is the answer"
In August 2023, we asked the JFM Radio listeners to send in their all time top 10 JFM Radio tracks. Here is the final list in no particular order, and we would like to thank everyone who took the time & effort to take part!

Station founder Brian Anthony with Jazz Funk legend Roy Ayers in the JFM studio, 1983.
JFM (1980-1985) was a spin-off from the long established Radio Jackie and formed the first of a new generation of unlicensed jazz funk and soul radio stations, broadcasting on VHF in the London area. It quickly attracted top club DJs of the day, and the interest of many record labels, music promoters and small local businesses, as the audience grew to rival and surpass London’s legal radio stations. Its influence still resonates to this day, its format and activities still very much alive in current soul stations. Our mission is to preserve and celebrate the legacy of JFM and to engage in future projects for your enjoyment: for ex-presenters, ex-listeners and those who’d just like to find out more about the roots of the soul radio scene. To champion and promote new music within the genre, and give new artists much needed exposure to a black music loving audience. JFM’s founder Brian Anthony had already endorsed this project, prior to tragically losing his life in a car accident in 2021. Hence, this non-profit venture starts right here in memory of a man who drove the whole thing forward, as well as being a colleague and a now much missed long term family friend.
There are various methods in which you can support JFM and help us continue our service to the music and our audience.
